Volunteers at Rokesly

Research shows that when parents and carers are actively involved in children’s learning and show a real interest in what is happening at school, children progress more quickly. At Rokesly Infant and Nursery school we aim to foster this important home/school partnership from an early age. We value the skills and expertise of our volunteers and their commitment and support in raising standards for the children of Rokesly.

Throughout the school year, your child’s teacher will request your help for trips and other activities. During the year we ensure that there are many opportunities for you to work alongside your child in our curriculum workshops, on trips, at off-timetable activities and other special events.

We have also have a volunteer scheme for parents and carers who are able to dedicate regular time to support children in school. All adults that work in school must have a police check and we will organise this for you. Regular volunteers will work with children in different classes than their own and must have a DBS check.

The Head Teacher holds a volunteer induction meeting at the beginning of the school year which volunteers must attend. All volunteers must have relevant checks to work in school, which we will help you with at the meeting.

Our next meeting is on Thursday 11th November 2021 at 9.10am

Look out for more information in our school newsletters.
