Department for Education Coronavirus advice
We are expecting increasing cases of coronavirus in the community, so there is a new focus on ensuring people who are unwell with a fever or cough or away from others for the time while they are potentially contagious. This will slow spread of the infection and is important in protecting those around us. The new advice is as follows:
Anyone (pupil or staff member) with a fever or persistent cough should not be in school and should self isolate for 7 days from the time of onset of symptoms or for longer if symptoms are still present after 7 days.
People are not expected to call 111 unless:
- they feel they cannot cope with symptoms at home
- the condition gets worse
- symptoms do not get better after 7 days
People will not routinely be tested. Advice on self isolation is below:
