Coronavirus Updates

Department for Education Coronavirus advice

As you will know, while government guidance remains that schools must stay open, there has been a change in guidance following the Prime Minister’s comments on Tuesday 17th March in that where any person in the household of a staff member or pupil is unwell with fever and cough, the whole household needs to self-isolate for 14 days.  This is a change from the advice that was sent out to schools and the general public previously.
It is also now the case that young people or children who become unwell at school with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature will be sent home.

Staying at home guidance

24/3/20 the Prime Minister addressed the nation on coronavirus (COVID-19) and asked people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes. There is no change in guidance for education settings, which remain closed except for the children of critical workers and vulnerable children. We continue to ask that parents keep their children at home, wherever possible.

The full stay at home guidance is available at:

At this difficult time, the situation is moving very fast and staff at Rokesly are reacting to the most up-to-date official guidance in all decisions we make.

During this crisis, the infant and junior schools have co-ordinated to send relevant information to parents and carers, and we will continue to do this for as long as it is possible to do so.
